This is Emily.
She lived in foster homes from the time she was 4 years old, after enduring sexual abuse from her uncles, cousins, and grandfather.
Her family also kidnapped women into sex trafficking, forcing this innocent girl to witness their torture and abuse.
When she arrived at our home, we saw scars covering her body and face. She always dressed in pure black, like a boy. When asked why she avoided colors, especially feminine ones like pink, she explained that wearing girls’ clothes had led to sexual abuse. Dressing as a boy was her way to stop people from sexualizing her.
Until now. Finally, at the age of 15, she was brought to one of our homes.
Emily is now surrounded by people who have become her true family, teaching her what real belonging and safety feel like.
Hope has taken the place of fear in her heart. She now studies cosmetology, smiles constantly, and shows herself to be intelligent, helpful, and deeply loving.
This is Redemption.
