Answer International-funded operators were investigating two bars in Cambodia when they saw something they could not ignore.

Young girls were being offered for sex.

What looked like ordinary bars were hiding something much darker. After multiple visits, operators uncovered private rooms where women and girls were being exploited, with arrangements made to take them to nearby hotels.

But their story was not over.

Answer International-funded operators and local anti-trafficking police moved in.

Twenty-eight women and girls were rescued. Authorities confirmed that most were minors.

Nine suspected buyers were arrested at the scene, and the alleged bar owners are being held as the case moves through the Cambodian courts.

The rescue is only the beginning. But twenty-eight lives have now been pulled out of exploitation and given the chance for a new future.
